The Arts and Enterprise Afterschool Program

Arts and Enterprise Afterschool Program teaches middle school students dance and theatre, and instills an awareness of the business of art and civic responsibility. The program’s approach is holistic; it offers classroom-based training coupled with experiential education in a real-world, internship-like setting that affords students opportunities for growth crucial to youth development. Students develop their production within the dynamic, thriving arts center, which exposes them to a diverse range of artists and art forms.

Registration is underway for the CEC Arts and Enterprise Afterschool program, now through the end of September. Fall 2003 Classes will begin on October 7th 2003 through December 12th. The program is for middle schoolers interested in studying the theatre arts, i.e., acting, dancing, writing, and related subjects like marketing, fundraising, etc. While offering a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the arts, an important overall goal is positive youth development. Cost for the program is on a sliding scale, scholarships are available.
